You drive this golf cart like it is your first time behind the wheel.

Or are you just trying to scare me? - Shanti Baby

(Go left up here, slow down, stay on your side of the road, stop waving at everyone, remember I am hurt so easy on the turns, watch for speed bumps, stop looking at your text, and get us home please gawd in one piece)

Maybe a little help please. AND PUSH.

This is my first mud run/obstacle course.  HELP PLEASE - Della Dolittle

Don't be afraid to touch my butt if you have to- I am almost over.
(Della is a GSD, 2 years of age, no health issues and LOL- CANNOT JUMP. At all. Not into a car, over a tree.  Too cute. She is a foster/rescue with a great human. Side note- a GSD holds the record for highest vertical jump)

WARNING. This plant can kill your dogs.

Blog friends - It is called heliotrope and is highly toxic, causes total liver destruction.  Dogs will nibble at the leaves of this plant (It can come in white or purple).  Please share with any dog owners you know to hopefully prevent their dog from becoming a statistic. Vets may not know this is a toxic plant but now YOU DO!!

I will just close my eyes and trust you at the helm as our captain - Buddy Love to Shanti

(Stop farting and maybe I will take the wheel- Shanti)

Wake up Maisy. Wake up honey! It's time to eat.

I was dreaming it was my birthday all over again.  How old am I anyway because I feel  AT LEAST 112 today?
(Let me get this straight. I get a tasty birthday cookie but I also have to eat my nasty doggie pills? What kinda shitty trick is that to pull on an old dog?)

Can you just start by lifting my head and pointing me in the right direction of my food bowl?

I was dreaming of my man, the love of my life, Harley- and the times we shared on this couch.
I am kinda glad he is gone. So much more of everything for me.  I hope you cannot hear my thoughts.

Quote of the week:

"Dogs are our link to paradise. They don't know evil or jealousy or discontent. To sit with a dog on a hillside on a glorious afternoon is to be back in Eden, where doing nothing was not boring--it was peace." -Milan Kundera

Please get your HANDS OFF ME.

All of you are worthless and  your touches are unwelcome. - Shanti Baby

(I don't understand why other dogs like all this attention. Nasty, groping hands.)

Touching Photo....

It is a pet memorial resting on it's owners grave...it has the actual dog collar from the dog on the statue.
I know when I cross over the rainbow bridge (it is where I want to go too)- my best friends through the years will all be there.

- Photo credit to Erica Holt in Charleston, SC, professional photographer and artist.  Thanks for sending!

What am I doing in here?! I am blocking you from doing unthinkable things in my water bowl.

Maisy Moo, worshiping the toilet
(You are just nasty. That is what we have the yard for....)

Yes, I have a new cast on and that is why I cannot drive.

But it doesn't stop me from hogging the driver's seat - like ever.  - Shanti Baby

I look good. Like Black and Yellow, Black and Yellow.

Mom! You're finally home. You have been gone for weeks and we are starving.

What??  You just went to the store and came right back? Well, it's not like any of us wears a watch... - Sam, Buddy and Maisy.

(Shanti is not in the pic because she didn't care that I had left)

Live more as dogs do- playful and no grudges. Be happy with each day.

Remember
Inspired by Theo Dorgan's poem "The Angel of Days"

And what did you do on earth?
I descended daily into the hush - if only for a moment,
but sometimes for blessed hours at a time.
I followed the shimmering threads which lured me
into the night, full of wonder at all that was unfolding.
I opened myself wide to gratitude,
to the delight that there was anything at all,
much less pink-petaled peonies
and generous handfuls of red berries,
the incredible sweetness of things,
or the way dawn and dusk could reveal
my own new thresholds,
how a walk by the sea can change
everything,
and that I could be so well loved, and love in return,
that I could dance on earth's forest floor
and say "yes" to life from the belly of sorrow.

And what was the best of it?
I was saved by beauty again and again,
the golden glimmer of sunlight
across wet pavement revealing a luminous world,
and the stone ruins of churches and monasteries,
with their arches of ancient longing holding
ten thousand prayers, ten thousand paths to hope.

And what would you have changed?
Only perhaps to have worried less about what might come,
which never did
in exactly the way I imagined.
And to spend less time in front of screens,
offering more of myself to the elements of wind and rain and mud,
to roll with playful abandon in the wet grass, the way dogs do.

And what will you do now?
I will reach across the veil and whisper the word
"remember" to anyone who will listen.

(More) Ghost Images of Sam....

Here is a picture of a human and Shanti. Just as I snap, you will see a ghost image of Sam, creeping into yet another one of many pictures. He haunts many of my good shots of other dogs, people, events. Brown hazy images make it into many of my shots.

Here is a self portrait and you can see the ghostly image of Sam standing in the background....
He is everywhere, always watching us. Spooky.

I was hugging a new hound mix rescue named Hank and wanted a good picture of him for adoption.  As you will see if you look closely... Sam's ass made it into the picture.  Yep, that's his nubbin.

Hey Crackers. Did you see that little black and white dog fall in trying to get us? LMFAO!

Yep, I saw it Fritos.  I think they call him "Buddy" but who the hell's "buddy" is he anyway? Maybe he thinks we are related? How gawd awful.
(Either way, those dogs seem to eat our dock poop like doggie treats so they can't be too damn smart)

Huh? I really do not see how I am crowding Maisy...

Sam, after he walked the entire deck and plopped down against Maisy in the hot sun.
(Besides, she likes it- Sam). NO I don't so move over....freak. - Maisy.

Dog screaming link.....

107.9 The Link | Matt & Ramona: Stuff We Talked About

I love the sounds some dogs can make. I had a boxer that sounded like a 12 year old boy screaming bloody murder when he wanted back in the house. It was so funny but you rushed to let him in because the neighbors would think it really WAS a kid.  Boxers are known for human like noises they can make.

This dog Cody (link) definitely would fool me at times....

This looks like a good spot to drop anchor.

Let me sling this overboard and get this party started. - Buddy Love
(Mom does it so how hard can this be?)
