Sweet 16 Maisy Moo

When I asked Maisy, my little grunt pig, what she wanted for her sixteenth birthday, the normally quiet and shy little grey girl told me softly at first, then her voice got louder with each grunt...

"Spring is coming so how about you get me a new boat tight wad?  Something I can be PROUD to ride around in my old age, not embarrassed like the piece of shit you have been riding me around in for years.  Why don't you creak open that wallet and get something that is RELIABLE and doesn't have us all hoping and praying it makes it back to the dock -I have no thumbs so I cannot help row us back to the dock dufus! I pray each time that it will even start after I have dragged my ass down there to ride. I am tired of stressing every time we go for a ride as it is NOT good for my longevity. I do LOVE a good ride though and maybe someday you can give me that.   The problem with your old pontoon boat is the rattle and smoke of your sucky ass jalopy scares me and I can't even nap on the ride.  At my age, I shouldn't have to stress on my joy rides each week. Gawd knows I deserve a better life, so you can leave the younger dogs behind as they also get on my nerves. And keep my water bucket full, clean and cold.

So why don't you buy me a new boat?  And scratch my belly and my butt.  Fix me something nice, something special for a change.  Take my sexy shaking ass for a truck ride.  Walk me in the flowers in the field.  And thanks for asking!"

"....Happy BIRTHDAY to ME- EEE, Happy Birthday to me." I love the sun!

Riding on the new boat with my dog pound posse. At least I got part of my wish.

Let's get this thing started so I can go for my ride to the woods and trails.

Mom picked me wildflowers. Sometimes I just hate her.

Happy Sweet 16 Maisy!

I don't give a damn about my birthday. Just let go of my cookie!

Reba needs a good family to adopt her. She is adorable!

She is a 5 year old brindle boxer/dobie mix.  She is spayed but has heart worms and foster group is providing treatment asap so that is covered for her new family. She is very sweet, gets along with other dogs, she likes to be by you, so may be a little clingy.  Great family pet and hangs out a horse farm where a friend of mine goes daily.  Please help find her a great new family!  (Send me message if interested)

For anyone that has a Boston Terrier or knows my BUDDY- love this!

Hurry up mom! You gonna get this boat started today or what?!

Maisy, always ready for a ride or a meal.
(For gosh sake's, I am not getting any younger)

The Joy of an Old Dog

Maisy turns 16 today so our days remaining become more precious. I have had several dogs live a nice long life and each has taught me to be more loving, patient, kind, and understanding. We all get there;  we all need help at some point.  So Maisy girl....this one is for you today! To know you is to love you.

Their joys are simple. A soft bed. A scrap fallen from the table that the younger dogs missed. The memory of a treed squirrel. A stormless night.White whiskered faces and legs crooked as question marks.Old Dogs…their sweet Buddha bellies hang over crossed legs as they fall asleep in a coveted patch of sun. Dreaming of out-racing their shadows down long, shady lanes.Once they danced by your side. The very definition of joy unleashed. A perfect poem caught in shining eyes and wagging tails. They have followed you faithfully for years. And would plunge into fires, untamed wildernesses, raging waters if you asked. Now, they struggle to catch up. Their pace slow but their hearts still valiant.Their cloudy eyes are starting to dim and go distant, tuning in to some invisible world. Just beyond your reach.Don't go you say, as you scratch the tender part between their ears. Stay longer. I can't imagine a world without your fur pressed close to my cheek. There are still so many roads we haven't explored. And they look up at you with a wisdom that just slays you.Their backs are bent, not from the weight of years, but from the invisible wings they are growingThat will soon take them to a place where once more they are warriors of speedDrunk with the sights and scents of a thousand meadows.Able to leap high enough to touch the wing of the tiniest butterfly.A place where they will now wait for you to catch up.  ~ Doinna Swageski

How about I drive this time and let you run along side the cart?

Sam I am a smart ass.
Yeah. And let her run with the other dogs out in the middle of the street while we sit our asses on the cart and yell "faster, faster" - Shanti
