The life of a dog parent...

I return from my vacation, ready to meet and greet my babies as I have missed them. And so the story goes:

1.  I let Buddy out when I arrive and his NEW wheelchair literally falls apart and dumps him into the flower bed.
2.  Go down the NEW handicap ramp built for Buddy, slip and fall. Buddy has accidently pooped on it, my slippers hit it and slidding I went.
3.  I put Shanti's seizure meds in her food, she walked away and Sam ate all her food while I was not looking. He has slept all day.
4. We go for a ride in my truck (I upgraded to a 4 -door so everyone can have space) and they all insisted on cramming upfront (Shanti likes to growl at anyone near her).
5. I put Buddy into his backup wheelchair (also brand new) and he flips it off the handicap ramp and has to be rescued.
Yep, it is good to be home!

(Mom why are you sitting upfront crowding us when you have room in the back?  PS- I licked the opening in your coffee cup- and yes, I ate my own poop this morning)

Funny of the day....

Truck full of love.

I get a lot of attention when I ride around with 3 to 5 dogs at any given time in my white pickup truck.  We have the extended cab so everyone has room (I mean ME).  I take my dogs on errands, trips, anywhere and anytime I can.

So today after a vet trip, we stop for a breakfast beverage and I leave my dogs in the truck, windows half down.  As I come out a nice older man tells me "you have beautiful dogs there".  I say "thank you".  Then he said "you have a truck full of love".  I smiled big.  Never heard that comment before- it was very sweet and true.

So I roll my windows up to drive down the road with my fresh beverage and smell at least 2 different dog farts at once. I laugh out loud as I think to myself..."what I have is a truck full of dog farts".

Enjoy your rides this weekend.

You really should delete your history perv- Buster the foster

Buster is available for adoption thru BTRTOC.  He is 5, fixed, sweet and loving.  He is a bit of a bully and we are working on that with other dogs.  He is a good looking brindle.  24 lbs. Loves to walk and ride, and eat.  LOL. Has a beautiful smile. Cute bugger.

Make room up in heaven for one more angel...

OBIT

My Maisy passed away last night. She was 17 years and 1 week old.  She had bladder stones and her kidneys were failing so I let her leave this earth peacefully, gently, and with dignity at the hands of my trusted vet.  We did it at my home and her ashes will be spread in my back yard, and off the back of the boat into the lake where we lived together for 10 wonderful years. These are two places she loved.  She joins her brother-husband Harley in death and is running with him once again in some parts unknown.

Maisy was a purebred boxer, rescued from a kill shelter. She enjoyed cart rides, walks, boat rides, truck rides, snoring, sleeping on the couch, eating, passing gas, and love. She also had doggie dementia late in life which made her even cuter to me.  She was almost 7 when I rescued her, thus she lived a long full life. Up until the end she enjoyed her daily walks and golf cart rides, and never lost her gusto for food. She is survived by Sam (adopted son), Shanti, Buddy, and Riley (foster).

Maisy always wagged her nubbin and shook her butt for company. She was a crowd favorite due to her sweet loving nature. We will all miss you ole gal.  RIP my beloved Maisy Moo.  Thank you for enriching my life. Be free once again.

Maisy with Harley approximately 6-7 years ago.
( They were not supposed to be up on the couch but they always did what they wanted anyway- they had spunk)
